This is George.
George drinks coffee nearly every day at Lola's Cafe Espresso when he's not running off to California, Alaska, or other parts of the world. He also volunteers at Topeka-Shawnee County Public Library, goes to weekly meetings of a writer's club at Barnes & Noble, is active in the UUFT, and takes classes at Washburn University.
George studied for the ministry but spent most of his "working" days as a teacher.
George is a writer, an artist, a storyteller, a poet, an actor, and a very entertaining personality and friend.
He's one of Topeka's treasures.

We love George here at TSCPL. He is part of our volunteer family and contributes so much to the Topeka community.
He does indeed. And, someone is reading the blog, hurrah!
If you know anyone who likes to make pictures of Topeka, please point them this way. I don't need to hog the whole thing.
George will be reading from his book "Back When I Was Alive: Tales of the Kansas Dust Bowl" at the River City Reading Festival at the Lawrence Public Library on September 27, 2008. The full schedule is here: http://www.rivercityreadingfestival.org/schedule/index.html
Hey! I know George. What a great site... came via Flyover People and started checking out your lovely photos. That's how I made it all the way back to September.
I love Topeka and still visit as often as possible even though we have moved down the interstate to Emporia.
